Most Helpful Positive Review Lightweight, free standing tent at a great price
My daughter and I have used this tent on the Colorado and West Coast Trails, in snow storms, outright downpours, in mud, on sand, above 13k feet in 60 MPH winds and it has held up just fine. Only knock is small vestibule and single point of entry, but for the weight and price ... terrific.
Most Helpful Negative Review Big Agnes Tent
I recently purchased a Big Agnes Fly Creek tent. It arrived quickly and was very easy to set up. Before I purchased it I wanted to ask a customer service representative a few questions. The knowledgeable rep answered my questions. One of them was, “Does this come with the footprint as stated in the...

Better than the original

by opp, Verified Owner from Taiwan Written on April 30, 2020
It's really easy to set up.
Lightweight and durable
And the design is ultralight cramped for 2, ideal for 1.
It’s better suited to a solo sleeper who wants some extra space for gear.
For it's weight, it's an outstanding shelter if pitched properly. For weekend backpacking or a long distance thru hike it is excellent. Use it for what it was intended and you will be pleased.
Pros:
  • Easy Set Up
  • Lightweight
Cons:
  • small for two people
Best Used for:
  • Backpacking
  • HIKING
Would recommend: Yes

Love the tent

by Snake, from CO, United States Written on June 7, 2018
I have had mine for 5 or 6 years now.
Had a little too much in Sturgis and, had some problems one night in the rain, ended up ripping the fly.
Was repaired free with free return shipping, used it the last two years on the fix.
It has kept me dry in 13 states plus 7 days in Canada on motorcycle trips.
Very light and packable.
Very durable, 250 lbs 6"4" hard on equipment dirty biker trash here.
Going to try to doubling up for 10 days next month. Just ordered Big Creek 30 double bag for the trip.
Never had problem with Big Agnes Love there Gear.
Pros:
  • Light and Packable
Cons:
  • Rain fly gets stuck in the Rain
  • Rain Fly needs to be staked
Best Used for:
  • Lightweight touring

Great lightweight tent

by Andrew, Verified Owner from LA, United States Written on May 17, 2018
Only used once so far, but the tent is great so far. I use for myself and dog, and there is more than enough room. The materials are very lightweight, so we will see how it holds up against dog nails, but so far so good! I am about 5'10, and have enough headroom to sit up/change, etc.
Pros:
  • Weight, comfort, carrying capacity
Cons:
  • Durability TBD
Would recommend: Yes

Great Backpacking Tent

by Cathy, from CO, United States Written on May 4, 2018
We are thrilled for this backpacking tent. Perfect for two people, lightweight and super easy to assemble! We love checking out the night sky on clear nights and using the effective rain fly when that Colorado afternoon summer storm comes! A great overall tent!

Lightweight High Quality Tent

by SpartanA2, Verified Owner from WI, United States Written on May 1, 2018
This tent weighs in at a pack-weight of 2lb 5oz. The vestibule is large enough to hold your pack at 8sq ft but, you will be crawling over it to get in an out of the tent. Everything about the tent is well thought out and it can be easily set up in just a few minutes. This tent is marketed as a two person tent. Yes, a very cozy two-person tent with 52" at the widest and 42" at the narrowest points. You can sit up near the door where the height is 40". The footprint is good quality and only weighs 4oz. I am 5' 11" at 196lb and I am very comfortable in this tent.
Pros:
  • Lightweight at 2lb 5oz
  • Quality materials and construction
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Backpacking

A great lightweight introduction level tent

by Jerry, Verified Owner from OR, United States Written on April 25, 2018
This is a great product if you want to lighten the load.
Space, weight, packing volume and so on!

It is especially suitable for girls to go on foot.

But it also has something to pay attention to:

The first is to use the environment, preferably at low altitudes.

Secondly, the fabric is thin and needs careful care when used.

Third, it is a semi self-contained tent. When it is used on hard ground, it needs auxiliary climbing poles to build it.

In a word, this is a daily Hiking Tent.

Light and versatile

by Ana, from NM, United States Written on April 24, 2018
I wanted a tent I could use on solo trips and for partner trips. Big Agnes makes quality products. I know it will preform. The tent is affordable for how light it is. The weight difference between the UL1 and UL2 is minimal. UL1 is more compact, however I was willing to sacrifice a few onces and a bit of pack space in order to have gear versatility and comfort. I will be taking this tent on a solo JMT trip and a series of partner trips from desert to alpine. Thanks campsaver for the killer deal and bonus footprint. Your customer service reps rock.

Big Agnes hv ul fly creek bikepacking tent

by JJ, from UT, United States Written on March 13, 2018
This tent is very light and will be perfect for bikepacking. It was shipped very fast and packs up very small. We have 2 bivvy sacks, and this one tent weighs less than our two bivvy sacks together. It is a little longer packed up, but will still fit in a handlebar roll bag.
Best Used for:
  • Bikepacking or fast packing

about this tent

by Lin Ztu Lung, Verified Owner from Taiwan Written on March 13, 2018
When setting up the fly creek ul2 hv tent and footprint, will the poles insert into the grommets of the tent corners AND footprint corners? When stretched out, the footprint w/ webbing corners and grommets appear to be 4-5 inches wider than tent.
