Popped within 5 seconds - Big Agnes Insulated AXL Air Sleeping Pad

bjb2134's Review of Big Agnes Insulated AXL Air Sleeping Pad
I am 6'7" 210 lbs, so I ordered the 78x25 model. I was amazed at how light this was and small it packed down compared to the other Big Agnes pads. I own about 5 other Big Agnes sleeping pads and a tent and purchased the AXL for a backpacking trip. I absolutely love the company and never had a complaint up to this point. I took it out of the package for the first time, inflated it, laid down to see if there was enough air, and within 5 seconds of laying down, it popped making a loud sound like a balloon. I examined the area to see if I could repair it (since this was night 1 of a 4 day backpacking trip) and there was a huge gash about 6-7 inches long. No chance at repair. I wish I could recommend this product but buyer beware. I will be taking my reliable Klymit on all backpacking trips from here on out as it still packs down much smaller than the AXL and weighs less. Big Agnes will exclusively be for car camping.
