Most Helpful Positive Review Big Agnes insulated AXL sleeping pad
I bought the 78"x25" rectangular pad. Packs down to 10-1/2" long x 4-1/2" diameter, weighs an even one pound, is 3-1/2" thick, rated to 15 degrees F. I have not used it at temperatures lower than 30 degrees F, so can't attest to the 15 degree temperature rating. It's OK at 30 degrees F, but I did...

Most Helpful Negative Review Big Agnes Insulated AXL air sleeping pad leaks - 2nd review after 2 years
I've had this pad in the 78"x25" size for 2 years. It's about 3.25 inches thick, very comfortable and very light. Worked fine for the first year, used about 6 times. I loved it. This year I had my daughter sleep on it for a backpacking trip. Went flat after a few hours. Slow leak, couldn't tel...

Popped within 5 seconds

by bjb2134, from UT, United States Written on September 17, 2018
I am 6'7" 210 lbs, so I ordered the 78x25 model. I was amazed at how light this was and small it packed down compared to the other Big Agnes pads. I own about 5 other Big Agnes sleeping pads and a tent and purchased the AXL for a backpacking trip. I absolutely love the company and never had a complaint up to this point. I took it out of the package for the first time, inflated it, laid down to see if there was enough air, and within 5 seconds of laying down, it popped making a loud sound like a balloon. I examined the area to see if I could repair it (since this was night 1 of a 4 day backpacking trip) and there was a huge gash about 6-7 inches long. No chance at repair. I wish I could recommend this product but buyer beware. I will be taking my reliable Klymit on all backpacking trips from here on out as it still packs down much smaller than the AXL and weighs less. Big Agnes will exclusively be for car camping.

NOT Sleepless in Seattle

by Reinmaker, from WA, United States Written on July 23, 2018
This is the best single investment that I have made in backpacking equipment. Like sleeping on a cloud ! I especially like that it is easier to inflate and deflate than any sleeping pad that I have had in the past. No problems with warmth so far.
Pros:
  • COMFORT
  • weight
Cons:
  • None for me
Best Used for:
  • Backpacking
