Diethelm's Review of Big Agnes Insulated Q-Core SL Sleeping Pad

Sleeping pad manufacturers appear to be of the opinion that people are like big bean poles. An inch across so they can fit 20 bodies on a matt. Unfortunately they have got it all wrong. I’m not a big guy, I’m athletic, fairly slim and muscular but only 5 foot, 3 inches and a bit tall while acting an ape and swinging on a tree. Despite this my shoulders just about overlap the width of this matt so I have a hard time stopping my arms from flopping over the edge. THIS IS NOT GOOD. One of the reasons I purchased this matt was to keep my sleeping bag off the ground in severe condensation when puddles form of the ground sheet of the tent. This matt is just not wide enough to prevent that. SO WHATS SO HARD ABOUT PRODUCING A MATT THAT PEOPLE CAN FIT ON WITHOUT BEING A MILE LONG? My only other grip would be that this matt loses pressure after about 12 hours so I need to re-inflate it. This would be a perfect matt if not for the rediculous width.
