Sleeping pad manufacturers appear to be of the opinion that people are like big bean poles. An inch across so they can fit 20 bodies on a matt. Unfortunately they have got it all wrong. I’m not a big guy, I’m athletic but only 5 foot, 3 inches and a bit tall while acting an ape and swinging on a tree. Despite this my shoulders just about overlap the width of this matt so I have a hard time stopping my arms from flopping over the edge. THIS IS NOT GOOD. One of the reasons I purchased this matt was to keep my sleeping bag off the ground in severe condensation when puddles form of the ground sheet of the tent. This matt is just not wide enough to prevent that. SO WHATS SO HARD ABOUT PRODUCING A MATT THAT PEOPLE CAN FIT ON WITHOUT BEING A MILE LONG? My only other grip would be that this matt loses pressure after about 14 hours so I need to re-inflate it. This would be a perfect matt if not for the ridiculous width.

I don't know what it is with these sleeping pad companies but they all seem to be of the same mind set. They appear to believe that people are built like big bean poles - "an inch across so we can fit 20 of them on a matt". They have got it all wrong. I'm not a large guy, only 5foot 3inch and a bit while acting an ape and hanging from a tree, but my shoulders about overlap this matt and it's really tough keeping my arms from flopping over the edge. Mats like this are so narrow you just need to twitch and you come off. One of the reasons for the purchase was to keep my sleeping bag off the ground in really damp weather where small pools of water collect on the ground sheet. This matt is not wide enough to do this. WHY CAN'T THEY MAKE MATTS A 4 OR 5 INCHES WIDER? Would that be too hard?
