8 years on, still using this baby

by KarlosJ83, Gear Expert from UT, United States Written on July 27, 2015
I've had the 1st version of this tent for 8 years now and it's still my go to tent. The newer versions are lighter but not by a ton and mine still works great. I don't like to sleep with other people but I want to be light. But not so light that I don't get bug and weather protection. This tent is perfect for me. Make sure to guy out the sides of the tent by attaching the fly to the mesh with the sewn in clips as it really opens up the interior a bunch. Solid tent.
Most Helpful Positive Review Great lightweight tent
My first BA SL 1, after 6 years of heavy use, finally bit the dust. It's such a great tent I replaced it with the same. I have only ever used 6 of the 13 stakes supplied. The fabric pole loops that run along the top of the tent are hard to thread so I sewed in pole hooks which has made set up so much easier. Free standing requires camp gear to line along the in sides of the tent to help keep it's

Its a good 1-man

by BRIAN R., from KS, United States Written on July 27, 2015
I bought this to use for 2 weeks in New Mexico. Only complaint is a small quality control item most people wouldnt notice anyway (hook loop sewn slightly out of place). It saw a lot of rain storms at night, steady rain for hours at a time usually while I was sleeping. Dries fast, packs light, takes up little space and sets up fast. Im thinking of getting an SL2. Came in the mail fasst...bonus.

Nice Ultralight Option

by Reiner Gal, from WA, United States Written on July 4, 2015
Got this tent for solo backpacks. Didn't want much weight. It really does the trick. I especially like the mesh on warm nights without the rain fly. It is not especially easy to get in and out of. That's the only possible down side. But that's more than made up for by the light weight and good construction. The zipper is especially well made. It's also a breeze to set up. And does well in wind and rain.

Great Price! Great Customer Service! Love my tent!

by Ryan B., from WV, United States Written on October 7, 2014
Exactly what I was looking for and needed. I tend to do solo hikes but sometimes my girlfriend likes to join. We're both tall and slender and we can both lay flat on our backs with room to spare on each side. Plenty of space to get comfortable laying down but we don't put anything else in the tent besides our sleeping pads and sleeping bags.

Shelter from the Storm (of Mosquitos)!

by Red Car, from CA, United States Written on September 10, 2013
Just finished hiking the JMT with this fantastic, light weight tent. While I never encountered any rain, the Seedhouse handled early frosty mornings, stiff winds, sultry evenings and trillions of mosquitos without issue.

Spacious. Over seven feet long and three and a half feet wide at the door, I found there was plenty of room extra gear, clothing, etc. and when the GF joined the hike a week in,

I like the weght and the cost.

by Jackhammer 45, from FL, United States Written on September 10, 2013
For the money, this was the lightest high quality tent I could find. I would prefer a side entry model but am not willing to give up any weight or pay more to get it. A good value nd a good performer.

defiantly worth what I paid.

by JonC, from KY, United States Written on September 10, 2013
Great tent but like others have said the door tends to allow water to come in when entering/exiting. I'm 5'11 230 and it is a bit cramped and awkward to get out of. If the door was on the side I would love it.

There is nothing big about this Agnes!!

by Mike, Written on September 10, 2011
It is winter so I haven't had an opportunity to use this tent yet. I have set it up and am looking forward to the first chance to try it out. I love how light it is and it is still roomy. My pack just got 2lbs lighter and that excites me. I will update my evaluation after I have a chance to put it to the test.

BIG AGNES LIGHTWEIGHT TENT

by Just Lisa, Written on September 10, 2011
I like it but am not crazy about the way the front tent door and fly door open..it might let rain in if trying to get in during a downpour. Also there are a lot of stakes to put in. If you don't guy the fly out, you will get condensation inside the tent. But it is a superlight tent and comfy inside.
