Out in the rockies - Big Agnes Three Wire Bivy

I was backpacking with 3 people out in the rockies. We were out there for a little over a week. I paid almost 400 for this Bivy thinking "get something worth getting or don't get it at all." 1st setup took around 12mins if put my matt down 15º day night -30. 1st night I was cold but the real problem was moisture. It just does not breath well. 2nd day even worse. So my friend Scotty had a bivy I never seen before, it was in a black compression sack Military looking. So I told him and he said well your breath what is that thing made out of. We take a good look Nylon. He said lower it you might be getting to airspace and it's not breathing proper. The side poles you can pull out and place them wider to lower the top. It lowers like that. I did it got worse I could not fall asleep in till I used a few hand warmers "7" but I had ice above my head! 3rd Night Mike come's over and said I heard that thing is giving you problems. He said I will try it out I will dub up on my base layers and we was in the morning he had on a medical mask. At sun rise morning I was laughing at him in till I realized I was the idiot that bought this. "No good man how much you pay" -russian lol "150.00 "150.00 to freeze man" Long story short as posable we took turns I can say Scott's system was the best it was a modular sleep system all he did was just un row it it had his bivy sleeping bags 2 of them and his blow up pad in there it was nice. I was not cold at all in that. Got in took everything off to my base layer and slept so well. I asked how they find this gear 98-37 survival life. If you really go in the outback I Learned you don't get this china junk. You get what keep a marine warm in the desert! I sold it 200.00 I told the guy the truth and I bought modular 3 system bivy. Changed my whole out look on gear.
