An Amazingly Spacious Tent for the Taller Mountaineers
I really admire this tent for the design and the space. I have been on the hunt for a lightweight 4 pound or less 4-season tent for a few months now. I have been buying (and returning) a lot of tents. This one is no exception unfortunately.
This tent is by far the longest tent I have tested which gave me a lot of hope. It is like a palace inside with a ton of space for one person, plenty of space for two and the length that a 6'3" inhabitant would need. This tent could easily accommodate a 6'6" sleeper without touching either end with their bag. Setup is incredibly easy and it only weights 3.75 pounds. Also, the pole design is very cool and provides a really good structure but it isn't as freestanding. It would require staking out to get the full amount of usable space. I wanted so badly to keep this tent and take it into the mountains but I just couldn't.
Unfortunately, as the few reviews out there had previously said, this tent is unbelievably thin. And they are correct. After stuffing it back in the bag I was afraid of tearing the tent or the bag. With gloves on in winter conditions this would be near impossible for me. And the floor is also just as thin. A footprint or groundcloth is a requirement, not an option in my opinion. With the footprint this tent is in the 4+ pound range and defeats the purpose of it being so lightweight.
Another thing to note, when I disassembled the tent, it was a real chore to get all the air out. This is concerning to me that the ten...
