New and Improved Torin 1.5
Written on Aug 05, 2014
The Upper: They really nailed it this time. The toe box is much improved compared to the prior model because they got rid of the toe cap, which was restrictive and caused multiple toe nail loss episodes. It now has a toe cap construction similar to the NB minimus where it is very free flowing. There's also no dorsal toe rub like I experience in the One. The only thing that I miss on the Torin 1.

Altra Arrows Torin Shoe - Men's
Much better than the Instinct 1.5. This is where Altra has finally taken their great ideas and executed it perfectly!
The sole has more flex and allows for a smoother, faster, and a more natural foot turnover. Before using these, I was a sole believer in the New Balance Minimus.
These arn't quiet as "fast" or "natural" but are more forgiving on longer runs.
Given that the shoe runs a 0.5 smal

Altra Instinct 1.5 Review
Written on Dec 12, 2013
Before this shoe, I ran in the NB minimus zero for 6-7 months, which is more similar to a racing flat. Although running ultras is doable in the NB M0, the Altra is a much more comfortable shoe for long runs. Where as the NB minimus is like a Porsche GT3, the Altra is the Panamera. Bottom line - this is still my favorite "minimal shoe" and would give it 5 stars if the sole was more flexible.
