I have both the Neoair Xtherm and the Downmat 9, I can't honestly say the downmat is that much larger, it is slightly heavier. Snomobile camping on the Yukon River in Alaska, this bag was very roomy and comfortable. I'm fairly large and it acomodated me easily and kept me warm at 10F, did not get colder that weekend. Easily takes a rectangular thermarest as pad and fits nicely (25"x78"), well constructed but takes a fair amount of space in a large duffel. Bottom line, it's roomy and keeps me warm.
