The canister works fine. Can be hard to depress the detent in the morning when it's cold but using a spoon helps. They are heavy and hard to pack in your pack but the only lighter option is the bearikade Scout which is 5oz lighter but $200 more to buy. Nice that you can see what's inside.

Soto OD-1R Micro Regulator Stove
I really liked the stove. It is very fast and the piezo worked consistently up to 12,500 feet. It simmers very well but because the burner head is very small there is a hot spot in the center of the pan and you have to keep stirring if you don't want food to burn. It still needs some kind of wind protection in strong winds.
