This is my second pair of salewa mtn trainers. First pair are the gtx version. Wanted to try the leather version for summer use were hopefully they will prove to be more breathable than the waterproof version. But will still keep rain out if looked after. I like salewa footwear as they are a bit wider than some other brands. They also come with adaptable insoles that work better for my metatarsalgia when required. They are a stiff for a hiking shoe which works fine for me. As with any footwear fit is the most important thing.
Bought this as a gift for my partner. She,s been looking for a really thin lightweight softshell jacket to replace an old jacket. The material on this jacket fits the bill nicely. Being both light and stretchy. Hand pockets are useful size and mesh lined for ventilation. But chest pocket is really small and probably not much use. Hood does not have any adjustment and cuffs are elasticated. Waist has drawcord to seal out drafts.
Cant comment on well how these pants work for climbing as I bought them for casual use. Nice lightweight pant with a good cut and built to mountain equipments usual high standards. Neat elasticated waist that keeps the pants close fitting but not restrictive. Probably make a good lightweight hiking pant if you can get by without zipped pockets. And the draw cords round the ankles should be useful to get a nice close fit round my boots. I got mine in the kiwi color which is quite loud. but makes a change from the usual muted colors.
The Rab vapour rise guide is one of my first choices for sub 30f hikes as I sweat easily. Designed to be worn all day. It's not a jacket you would want to be carrying as its quite heavy. It's biggest advantage is it's more breathable as the pertex equilibrium fabric is not completely windproof. The fleece lining helps keep you warm while moving moisture to the outer surface. The fit is normal. I,m 5'6 and 150lbs. Small has enough space for a base and midlayer if needed. The new version available for winter 2017/18 at campsaver looks like it could be even better with some polartec alpha insulation added to the front. Usual excellent service and easy returns at campsaver.
This is my second Ventus pull on. There are some improvements to the older cut and some changes that don't work as well for me. Newer design is a bit closer fitting. The material is slightly windproof and nice and stretchy but does not have any real thermal propertiesThey've removed the thumb loops and the neck comes up a lit tlebit higher. I use mine as a running top on cool windy days and as a long sleeve top on hot summer hikes as the material has good sun protection. Oh and I got mine in acid green. Awesome colour if you like that kind of thing.
Nice lightweight jacket for a double weave stretch jacket. Size small fits me well which has not always been case with recent rab jackets. Seems to have a more generous cut around the chest. Perfect for me. Definetly a summer weight jacket. Only adjustment is around the bottom of the jacket. But that's fine. Keeps the weight down.
My go to pants for spring, summer and fall. Lightweight with a loose fit and more robust material in the places that need it. long wide opening upper mesh leg vents for hotter days. This is my second pair. First pair still going strong. Just fancied a different colour option.
Really like this jacket. This is my second one. First one still going strong. Bought this one just incase they decide to change it. I find the fit of montane jackets to be the best for my bodyshape. 5ft 6. 150lbs in a size small. Being made from 2 of the most breathable materials on the market. It maintains good temperature control when working hard in winter conditions. Used mine for hiking and there are no signs of wear on the outside. 2 colour choices. Black if you want to blend in. Bright blue if you want to be seen.
