These are great boots. Lightweight yet tough enough for handling endless sharp embedded rocks, good traction in light mud/slick trails, excellent traction for approaches/grade 4 climbing with good to great smearing ability and some edging ability (largely dependent on how they fit you/how snug you are laced, like always). I really like them. I now wear Smartwool wool liner socks and a second pair of thin Smartwool socks, and only got mild blisters the very first time I wore them (when I stupidly only wore one pair of socks, not doubles). The trick for me at least is always wear double socks and snug them down (really lock down the fit) and if they feel loose after a mile, snug them again. I have dedicated trail running shoes, but these are light enough for some jogging/moving VERY quickly - I feel that agile wearing these. The laces seem strong, but are quite thin. No issues yet, but I’ve got a spare set of laces in my pack because it’d be a miserable walk home if a lace snapped.
