I'm on the bigger size, 6'05" 235 lbs, so I was a bit reticent about picking this. I usually go for the Big Agnes roomier bags. But I was looking to upgrade to down for a quality 3 season bag, and this looked like one of the best options out there, and seemed like a good value to boot. I was very happy with the fit, but happiest of all with the luxury plushness of the down and material. Stayed plenty warm in a tent down to 25 degrees, even with the family-sized uninsulated inflatable air mattress, so I'm very confident that it will handle 15 and below with ease when paired with either my Big Agnes or Exped down mats.
The wrist gaiters with thumb holes. Great idea, I was really excited to have a better system for keeping wrists warm and out of the snow. However, they wear a little short (at least on my long arms) and pull when arms aren’t straight. Also, the cuff is not deep enough for the tops of gloves to go under. Maybe gloves with gauntlets will interface better?
That’s my only reservation. Insulation level seems perfect for keeping warm after hiking up, and the shell material is just a bit more burly than your average ripstop junk. Hopefully it will hold up well in the backpack on the ski down.
Loving this new pad after 3 days of southern Utah shoulder-season camping. With nights dropping to the mid-40s, it’s insulation wasn’t really put to the test, but it is ridiculously comfortable. I’m 6’5 and ordered the biggest size. The width is perfect: even if it’s too wide to fit in my Big Agnes 0-degree bag’s sleeve there’s so much real-estate that I’m not worried about rolling off into the cold. Packs up to a very reasonable size. Can’t wait to try it in the snow, if it ever starts snowing!
