great for soggy and muddy winter hikes

Picked these up because of the Gore-tex and have been very happy thus far. A little stiff new, but 10 or so miles in, and they feel great and nicely broken in. Usually a Merrell fan, but now when buying new trekkers, I need to give another look to Salomon.

Needed some footwear for the snow that was a little burlier than my gtx trekkers, so that crampon and snowshoe straps wouldn't be as uncomfortable when tightened. Loved this thing out of the package. Lightweight, extremely packable, and once inflated, very comfy. Side sleeper here, and my foam pad wasn't enough for my hip bones. With the addition of this on top, my sleeping situation is now great. There is one thing leaving this from being a 5 star product, and that is the inflation valve.
