Some improvements and a fail

Written on Jul 15, 2016

The primary reason for purchasing this version of Jetboil was to get the safer and more usable pot. Safer because of lower center of gravity, and more usable because is is more shallow. Those changes were good.
The other technical improvement was the burner control with more precise incremental control of fuel flow. Those are all nice improvements.

The fail is the interface between the pot/burner base and the burner stem. It is thin flimsy plastic and very unstable. My pot will not even sit level and tips around very easily. I cannot believe this passed the first prototype test and review. Frankly it is so bad that Jetboil should fix it and replace it free for everyone who purchased this model. The original burner can be used for the new pot and is sturdy - not like this new one.

Frustrating disappointment. Jetboil can and should remedy this.

Also, when using the new burner control, it is so small in increments for opening that you have to turn it until you hear gas flowing before you try to light it. I had to turn it so many times before it would light that I wondered if it was clogged.
