Rab Latok Jacket - Men's
I got this shell as a lightish weight snowboarding shell for warmer wetter days in upstate/ADK NY. I have a couple other gore tex pro shells (marmot and Armada) that are heavier and have more snow sport specific features (more pockets, snow skirts, avalanche reflectors, lift pass pockets etc). I wanted to try an event jacket and decided on the Latok. First impressions are that the dv expedition fabric is much lighter in weight than the gore tex pro shells but has the similar grid backing fabric. The fit is a bit tight for a dad bod like mine but I'm 6ft and 200 lbs and an xl fits with room for a base layer and a thin mid layer. Sleeves are plenty long and the nice long pit zips are a nice feature. I'm curious to see how the event membrane performs vs the gore tex pro next season. All in all it's a great jacket. Would I pay $500 for it? I'm not sure any shell is worth that but at the deep discount at campsaver with a coupon code it's an awesome deal.
