I was looking for a zip top closure pack capable of carrying everything I needed for a cooler day out with my 17 month old on the trail as well as a good climbing and mountaineering pack. Great minimalist pack for fall and winter, doesn't breathe the best for hot weather. Things I like: full ripstop body, a lot of adjustability, minimalist build, comfortable and the orange is nice. Things I would change to make it perfect: top compression strap is removable so it can slide around and loosen up on you, make the emergency whistle safety orange due to it being hard to see I low light situations, have a zipper instead of hook and loop for the helmet/rope carry pocket, top hook and loop ice tool straps aren't the most glove friendly, replace the hydration bladder hanging system hook and loop for a buckle or mini carabiner. Other then those minor issues it's a great pack, really comfortable and well made. I purchased the orange for winter conditions and it a nice color. I have had close to 60 packs over the last 25 years and this is one of my favorites.
Great looking and fitting boot. I went a half size up from my normal shoe size for extra room with layers. Extremely solid boot that you could wear all day. I'm a heavy equipment field service technician by trade, I live in boots. The only issue (major deal breaker) was that the boots came defective from Asolo with a lace that was cut half way through. I contacted Asolo directly and they told me to buy laces from them and pay for shipping. 0 customer service. I have been wearing Asolo's for 15 years and I will no longer support them. What happens if a Rand separates or the sole delaminates? I shouldn't have to question customer service. Michael W. Campsavers Customer Care Senior Specialist was great at helping me with my transition from Asolo to Scarpa. I don't usually badmouth a company but why should I have to solve a manufacturers defect.
