These have the usual Merrell comfort, and fit true to size. The mid rise provides additional ankle support that I need on the trail, but are not too heavy.
I would say they are more water resistant than waterproof. In wet grass and damp days the outer gets wet but it is dry inside, however they would not survive a dunk in water or even multiple puddles, or even a long hike in the rain.
On the other hand, my feet don't sweat in these like they do in true waterproof boots.
I got the large size. Being down, it is very light, but also crushes down to almost nothing, so I fold it in half. I use it with a non-down camp pillow for comfy sleep.
