i was looking for a minimalist boot that I could strap up when i needed to get work done. I tried the Vivobarefoot Hiker as it was onsale on Amazon. It came too small and was very rigid. I didn't get a larger pair as they are $190 and I was afraid the lugs would rip off.
There are very few options out there so I took a shot with this one. I bought through campsaver as they had free shipping and a fit guarantee policy, which is better than I could get from Lems directly. The boot got here much faster than expected.
Onto the boot itself, absolutely the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. I wear Vibram Fivefingers as my daily shoe. I usually run 5k a day in them, so the minimalist aspect was not an issue. I was a bit concerned of the stack height at first. (I wear minimalist shoes as a resolution to always rolling my ankle in anything with a heel or high stack). I checked my KMD 5 fingers and they have the same stack height as the Boulder boot minus the insole, so my worries were unfounded. I did remove the insole as my feet would get uncomfortably hot and sweaty with it in. (Though it should be great in winter) I have heard complaints of the Boulder Boot not being water proof. (I sprayed them with a bit of Neverwet and it works like a charm. Other complaints I have heard is that the booth will fray a bit around the tongue. I simply put some fray check on it and that seems to work well. (I do which they used a more finished seem there however).
