I purchased this stove for another cook kit. I recently acquired a Meta 50 cook kit and wanted to add an alcohol option to it. This burner works fantastically and unlike the larger military Trangia burner the simmer ring offers more options to the Meta 50. Simple, bulletproof and time tested couldn't ask for more.
This is a fantastic cook kit! Using the kit will take some practice as the frying pan is small and the burner is powerful. I found myself spilling hash browns while turning them in the frying pan. I wasn't able to adjust the simmer as effectively as the stove allows, I think due to thermal feedback. With practice both issues should be resolved. Others have said a better wind screen would be nice. This maybe true, however in all but strong wind this setup will work very well. In fact a breeze may cool the pans enough to better control the simmer.
