It has its place, just not with me. It requires at least one extra carabiner, more for most uses. The instructions aren't very clear. I will be leaving this one off my rack.

Mammut Element Screw Gate Carabiner
Unbelievably light weight, but not a very secure lock. I have to really crank down on it to feel like it will stay. Not great for belaying (it's too thin), but awesome for anchors, especially toprope or rappel.

Black Diamond Vario Speed Harness
I use this harness for guests/friends and it seriously fits anyone. I wouldn't use it on anyone under 10 yrs, but it is so adjustable and easy enough that first timers can handle it.
