Very lightweight and definitely worth bringing along whether you're backpacking or camping. It has greatly helped maintain the integrity of my tent and is very easy to set up. I did an extensive amount of research before purchasing a pack. I also tried on many packs before committing to one (which I recommend for everyone looking to purchase a pack).
Some caveats/biases of mine: I am an somewhat unexperienced backpacker, but the trips I have ventured on have been demanding and required me to carry a hefty amount of cargo.
