Great light weight shell pant!

Written on Mar 15, 2018

I bought these pants as a lightweight shell for spring skiing/snowshoeing and hiking. The Gore-Tex material is durable, but light, and they take up very little room so I always have them in my pack as an extra layer for when the weather turns south. The light weight nature of these pants makes the ideal for spring and fall and even summer alpine adventures. Although I sometimes carry them as an extra layer on warmer winter days when my Beta AR pants are overkill. They've kept me warm and dry in recent late winter snow and rain storms. I recently used them on a ski trip to Glacier National Park when the weather turned nasty. I plan on using them for biking in the rain as well. They fit me great as well. I wear 32W x 30L and the Small/Short Inseam fit me great. I highly recommend these as a light weight shell pant.

Great ski touring and general winter pant!

I bought these for ski touring or xc skiing when I'm not using by big ski boots and Gamma MX pants. I love my Gamma MX pants, but they've always been too big, especially in the cuff for using with my leather 3 pin boots. The Psiphon AR is the ticket; trimmer fit, especially around the cuffs. I've used them once already on a short xc ski tour and found them to be great xc ski pant. I'll be using them for snow shoeing and winter hiking as well. My only complaint is that they only have one cargo pocket, and I wish there were two like on the Gamma MX.

I was a little worried about the length since they don't come in a short. I'm a 32x30, but the length on the Small/Regular fits me fine. They seem to run a little shorter than the Gamma MX; the Small/Regular being a little long for me, except when wearing my big tele boots. All in all, a great pant for winter activities.

Awesome all around Gore-Tex jacket.

I bought this jacket to have as a lightweight, packable bombproof ski jacket for when the weather turns south, and I need more than a softshell. This jacket fits the bill perfectly for me. First off, the sizing is great. It's more of a trim fit than my other jackets, but still has room for layers. I prefer a trimmer fitting jacket since I don't like baggy jackets that get in the way of your motion. The hood is plenty big for a helmet, but is easy to adjust to a smaller size so it fits well just over a hat and allows plenty of visibility. It's also light enough to pack nicely in your day pack, but has tough enough fabric to protect against the elements and hold up to a fair amount of abuse. I've already used it on a couple of short ski tours; one in warmer, windy conditions and one in cold, blowing snow. I found it's light enough to wear even in warmer winter weather, but solid enough for cold, windy conditions when the temps really start to dip. I'll be using this jacket all winter as my go to backcountry ski touring/snow shoeing jacket. It'll also be my spring/fall fly fishing jacket and cold weather hiking jacket.

Great pant for ski touring and snow shoeing.

I bought these for ski touring, snow shoeing, or any winter activity when I need more than a soft shell pant. I'll probably pack them along for spring ski trips and on cold, rainy day hikes. I love the fit and feel on these pants. I got the small/regular and thought they might be a bit long, but the length is just about right for me. I usually wear 32 waist and 30 inseam. The inseam on these are shorter than my small/regular Gamma MX pants which are a bit long. So far I've worn them on a cold, rainy hike and in windy, snowing conditions on a short ski tour. They fit great, move well, and keep you warm and dry. I'll be putting them to the test more this winter. My only complaint is that they only have one side pocket.

Wife loves this jacket!!!!

I bought this jacket for my wife. Where we live, there are many winter days where the wind chill is near or below zero. This jacket fits well, isn't too bulky, and very warm. She'll probably use it mostly around our house and property and for walking the dogs in cold temps; yes, our dogs like to get out even when the wind chill is -20F. She'll probably pack it along on our Yellowstone ski tours as well.
