Petzl GriGri Plus Belay Device
I've only used the GriGri plus a few times, but I love the extra safety it provides. Also the "panic" feature on the plus is great for new climbers. It is easy to use, basically like using an ATC, but safer.

Backpacker's Pantry Lasagna
Great taste! Sometimes I'll even heat one up at home for dinner. It states two servings, but I think it's more like one. If you have been active, (kayak, bike, hike, etc...) you are going to want eat the entire bag.
