These cups hold more than you think and are just the ticket for hot beverages, soups, stews, and even ice cream. They are microwave and dishwasher safe too, and like most things made in Sweden, the quality is first rate.
Optimus goes to great lengths to hide the origin of this stove. I have read that it's made in China or Taiwan, but the only markings on the stove or the box are Sweden. It's a pretty good stove (not as good as the Swedish ones). It does not simmer well at all, and the cup is not snug on the windscreen. If you need to make a quick cup of coffee or tea or just boil some water while out and about you could do a whole lot worse.
As a windscreen it's only fair, but it makes for a pretty good pot stand, but be careful that you don't tip it over as you will have an instant fire as with any alcohol stove.
I just tested one this evening. It is about 25% brighter than the other UCO and REI candles. I can really tell the difference. Based on the higher flame, I doubt they will last as long as the others. It's a trade off. BTW they are made in China.
