The Spirit Stove w/Mini Windshield from Trangia is practical and lightweight outdoor or emergency stove. The Mini Windshield helps maintain a consistent flame in the worst of weather.

As a windscreen it's only fair, but it makes for a pretty good pot stand, but be careful that you don't tip it over as you will have an instant fire as with any alcohol stove.
Cant be beat. Cheap, simple and battle tested. Favorite, most valuable piece of backwoods equipment I own. Boils 2 cups in under 10 minutes nearly without fail.
The stand is compact and light. While functional it is a bit cheap. I got this stand because the price was right, and just needed something to hold me off until I could make a superior home made design. While I love trangia burners, all the stoves/wind screens commercially made are not optimal. They have less BTU's then a liquid gas stove, are affected by extreme cold and wind.... Read more
This is a great size and is compact. Works great as stove stand an may be OK in slight breeze. I would recommend additional foil or flashing with some holes on the bottom around the setup closer to your cook pot but not touching. Or you could set up down wind behind a rock or tree trunk and use with less efficiency.
The Spirit Stove from Trangia does have an insert to soak in fuel prior to lighting it. I would suggest using Denatured Alcohol or Solid Fuel Tablets to fuel the stove.
You can purchase Solid Fuel Tablets here: http://www.campsaver.com/solid-fuel-12-pack
