When I saw it weighed 600 grams I knew it was burly. I bought it for skiing in the resort on cold, snowy. windy days. I know it will do that and more. The lack of pit zips isn't an issue for the intended use.This is the first Berghaus item I have bought and I am impressed with the quality.

Mammut Splide Pant - Mens
This is my third pair of Splide Pants. They are well over $100 less that the Gore Tex pants and have kept me dry skiing in the rain. They are light and pack up small which makes them great for travel and back country. They are not super durable so there are trade offs.

I love the pants for backpacking. I didn't give them a 5 for sizing reasons. I ordered 32 shorts and they seemed like 33 reg. The elastic cord lock on the cuff solves the length issue and cinch the belt.
