Exped Downmat Lite 5 Sleeping Pad
I'm an outdoor instructor in New England. I got this pad for my 11 year old son. Our first outing was on a realllllly cold, wet April weekend. Much colder than the seasonal norm. He was warm and comfortable both nights. The included pump is fantastic and works with my Exped mat that I bought a couple of years ago.
The ultimate in simplicity.

Trangia 27-2 Ultra Light Alc Stove Kit
The Traigia stove series is the ultimate in simplicity. There are basically no moving parts. It can support a large pot/pan. Fuel can be purchased almost anywhere. It's quiet. The only thing that could be a bit better is the temp control. It would be great to be able to adjust it without removing the pot/pan. I may rig up some kind of rigid wire that I can move the sliding disc with through
