Review for
Gregory Maven 45 Backpack - Women's
I was thrilled to find a pack that had (I thought) the combination of size and features I wanted for winter hikes/snowshoes or quick summer overnights. The Maven 45 seemed to fit the bill, but the specs are not correct as multiple features are not available in the smaller 2 sizes. Specifically:
-the hydration sleeve is not removable (no Sidekick dapack)
-the hipbelt pocket position is not adjustable
-no silicon gription on the lumbar pad
-no quick bottle access from the side pockets
-no interior divider separating the sleeping bag compartment (though it does have an access panel at the bottom)
Gregory really dropped the ball here, IMO. It's still a nice pack, but not nearly in the same league as the larger sizes. Haven't decided yet if I'll live with it, or return and size up.
