Expeeeensive, but...

Written on May 31, 2014

This is a great jacket for rather cold conditions. It is very warm for its weight, a bit bulky for its seriously low weight for warmth, and a rock solid parka for being a down jacket. There are a few stitch-through seams; two going up the back on each side. They have never bothered me, but it can be nice to know. Simply something you must bring

It is light, packs small, boils fast, sturdy enough. One of the best investments that I made in outdoor gear last year.

Nice product!

It is light, rather windproof, warm and looks pretty good. I want another one when this one wears out!

Works well

Seems solid. Been using it this season. Easy to fill with filtrated water, and fits nicely into the bottom of my kayak, as well as in basecamp for hiking and climbing. I have the 6 litres version, and it is huge.

One of the best

My new favourite for 3-season use. Sturdy, boils fast, freestanding so you can turn the canister upside down. You can regulate the flame pretty well, but I think Optimus could have made an even better regulation? Though it is quite good, it is not perfect. But; best I have seen so far of freestanding.

Solid, comfy and lightweight enough

This is probably the best mat for norwegian winter use, together with its bigger brother, the downmat 9. Mine has endured all kinds of soil, and provides enough warmth for me to sleep comfortably in all temperatures. It takes some time to inflate, but by adding an extra vault and using the snozzelbag, one eliminates that challenge. If you need only one sleeping mat, this is it.
