I use this when I go to the Adirondacks, or other places where it is required. My camping buddies and I can fit 3 people's food for 4-5 days in it, but we rarely bring Mountain House or other dehydrated foods because they take up to much space and have too much salt (acid reflux for days!). You can fit it in your pack, but unless you have an 80L pack this is all that will fit in your pack. The thi

This saves me carrying a water filter on the trail, I combine this with a SiltStopper above it on the line and I am set. I carry Aquamira drops as a backup. I really like the peace of mind knowing that it can filter virus when I am in South America and Asia. Combined with the Geigerrig 3 L Hydration Engine I basically have potable water on demand. Because it is pressurized I can give water to thos

The SiltStopper is a mandatory feature for saving your filter cartridge and preventing endless back flushes. If you are anywhere that has even mildly turbid water this will be indispensable. I have a virus filter (for when I'm in South America and Asia) that silt would clog in a heartbeat and then I would have to disassemble and back flush then get another couple hundred mLs and back flush again,

If you are looking at this pack, this is the pack you should buy! If you are concerned that you won't have enough space they make a 58L version and if its too much there is a 38L version too I believe. Not only does Osprey have a superb lifetime repair or replace warranty, this pack is tough. The exterior pouch that you can see clipped up in the center back of the pack is unbelievably strechy and

I only bring this one when I am not in my hammock and am more in the mood for a lazy comfy trip. It is heavier than foam but packs significantly smaller. It has very good insulation and will keep your bottom warm on the ground. A friend of mine had one that got a leak in it near the valve on the second night, wasn't a puncture the seam just gave out and he isn't particularly heavy. It also couldn'

I use these with both my tents and my hammock. they are light and grab well in soil. They are easy to stake in and are durable (hit it with a rock if needed). The loop of rope is reflective so you can see it at night. Obviously they won't be super effective in snow or really loose soil.

Greatest pot ever! It is super lightweight and durable and I don;t have to worry about scraping any nonstick surface.

I use these every time I go hiking, backpacking, or snowshoeing. I actually have the previous years model but these are great poles and virtually identical except for the color. Perhaps a little heavy compared to other materials but really not noticeable. They especially save my knees and ankles when I'm hiking and have kept me form falling over many times. The Ergo grip is a must in my opinion. S

I love this thing. It weighs about the same as a key chain light but is so much more functional. I bring this with me instead of my big headlamp (by comparison at least) all the time now. It is all you need and the replacement batteries are so much lighter to carry than AAA or AA. Simply amazing for its size and weight.
