Always Happy With Kelty

Written on Nov 09, 2025

I’ve had a Kelty Warbler for several years now and I have always loved the space and quality of construction. Plus the color is cool. But a couple of months ago my little sister stole it and was heartbroken when I needed it back. So I just bought her one! She has also been thrilled with the convenience and comfort of using such a great product.

Awesome backpacking

This is a great pot kit. I love everything about it. Cooked amazing meals in it. It doesn’t get 5 stars because the rubber handle on the top broke off and now the lid is impossible to work with. Otherwise it’s a great kit. I’m going to see what MSR will do about the lid.

Good looking, sturdy, quality, functional stuff from MSR AGAIN!!! but this spoon and its sister sporke ARE TOO SHORT!! I'm used to adventure gear spoons and sporkes being a lot longer than these usually 9 inches. . . and the spoons seem shallow like i might have a hard time getting up a satisfactory scoops of my chicken ramen noodle soup if I tried. . . . may not all matter to your though

No more burned lips

Written on Apr 01, 2025

I made my own ultralight drinking cup from an aluminum water bottle by cutting it off about half way up. It fits perfectly inside my cook pot along with all of the other items. I added a drink koozie to keep the heat away from hands (except when I WANT that heat) but my lips were always being burned when drinking coffee. There's something different about how lips can handle hot liquids versus the inside of my mouth.

I was trying to come up with my own creative solutions but eventually ran into someone camping with one of these on one of their mugs. I got the details and ordered them when I got home.

Since my cup is a straight edge, these do not stay on as well as they could but that is not the fault of the product since they were designed for a specific mug that has a flared lip on it. This still works but I have to be a little careful to not knock it off.

Regardless, it is a great product and those of us who like our coffee from a metal drinking vessel, this is a great solution.

deliciously

The dish is delicious, the spices and salt are on point — everything is within the normal range. Although, the portion is clearly not double, and I still need to add something to satisfy my hunger. This is an ideal option for infrequent use, when I want something light and tasty. If the portion was larger or a few ingredients were added for satiety, it would be perfect!

Good. But it should not be a separate option.

This item is just nice and works perfect. I can seat comfortably on any kind of surface, despite my weight is close to upper allowed for the chair. Makes chair much more stable. But let be honest - it is a patch for the chairs which are unstable on uneven soft surfaces. It should come together with chairs. As an option you could make chair cover convertible to such ground sheet so that it stores chair when it is folded and serves as a ground sheet when chair is in use. 5 stars for quality, 2 stars for price and desire to turn the product issue into feature to be sold

it is Works)))

These zipper pulls are very small cordage. I wish there was a bigger or thicker version, that allows for more sturdy use, in larger size 10 zippers for large canvas tents. However, we went ahead and put them on with a thicker zipper pull in tandem. They glow very brightly after dusk, for a few hours and are pretty handy for clumsy campers, who are first tent timers. We rent tents, and cater to those who cannot afford to travel with their gear. We are always looking for products, to try out, with first time campers, that will make the experience so wonderful they will commit to camping outdoors for a lifetime. That is the only way we are going to save the environment is to familiarize the climate controlled masses, as the environment is very harsh for them, every little convenience helps. Preserving our zippers is the number one issue we have. We love these, and bought a pair for every zipper. They will be good for the window zipps. But for the door zips like I said, the cord is very thin and small, they are more accessories with glow factor. Which is a good thing.

Futuristic headlamp with a few critical flaws

Written on May 23, 2024

PROS:
-Rechargeable
-Long battery life
-Longer battery life due to auto brightness adjustment
-Battery can be charged while not connected to the light
-Locking feature prevents lamp from turning on in bag (if you remember to use it)

CONS:
-Strap wears very quickly with use (I climb every other weekend using the headlamp)
-No red light
-No narrow mode for light-- I always feel like I'm blinding people when I look at them with the headlamp on, even on the lowest setting

Budget option.

Budget option.

In general, not a bad option. But far from ideal. This is the option when you want to take something from inflatable mats. But don't spend more than you want. Purely for the warm season. Considering the dimensions and weight, it is not suitable for long walks. More for camping and short transitions.

...the View

As a field biologist, I’ve spent a lot of time looking through binoculars. I was intrigued by the Nocs concept of quality lenses and rugged casings in an affordable, compact binocular. The specs were similar to those I look for in when buying binoculars for professional use - waterproof, nitrogen purged, anti-fog, color clarity, etc. I took a gamble and purchased Nocs as a gift for an avid hiker, but binocular newbie. When they arrived, I took them for a test run. Wow! Perfect! Great light and clarity, easy to handle and adjust, and great field of view. I was amazed at the optical quality for the price and size. Definitely winners!
