well conceived design and strong materials. Almost to strong! These little gaiters are mighty, and will stand up to some serious abuse. The took me around mt. Hood, notorious for its drops down into scree covered glacial crossings. Too much for the UL hiker, but great for most other folks.
The K10's were up on South Sister at 10k strapped on to my Dynafit Pantera trail runners. With the low snow this year, they were on & off frequently as we crossed scree, early morning glacier ice and late afternoon slush at 30 degree angles. The K10's stuck in like glue, were easy to strap on/off and felt super secure. They'll be in my pack for early season Cascade volcano walk-up summits- a nice solution for those folks wanting more than Microspikes, but who cringe at carrying a full on crampon "just in case".
Same material as CSUL1 floor - lightweight- silicon nylon. Same build quality you'd expect from Big Agnes. But dang, seems they got the sizing off. The grommeted webbing tabs don't line up with those on the tent itself - they extend further. this makes using the footprint with the tent somewhat cumbersome.
