Perfectarp

The HMG square tarp is light and compact enough for solo use, but offers generous cover, without proving too much windage to deal with by one person. I used it two nigts ago; set it up at dusk, got turned off by noisy drunk campers nearby, took it down, repitched it in the dark, decided later it might rain, so changed the pitch to ensure better coverage. My only concern is the white cuben allows solar radiation to pass thru, so gets very hot underneath in direct sunlight. Great workmanship. Great product. Great (20%) discount from Campsaver. Only gripe is tracking of package international economy was only from Campsaver to SF PO, Thereafter it was international postage, without tracking that I could access. I just had to have patience, then it eventually arrived, in fine condition. Love it!

LOVE the HMG 2400 Windrider pack and strongly recommend it.

Love the pack for its appropriate size and fit (I find the HMG 3400 Porter I have too deep to reach into comfortably to pack and get things from), for its amazing low weight and great support, and for its water-proofness. Looks great too, though it stains real fast from wet grass and the like, which doesn't really concern me. I did find with the Porter (with the same cuben fiber) that you have to avoid pack rubbing against hard objects - in a bus I wore a small hole in the top part just from friction against a metal part of the seat in front (but easily fixed). So now I'm real careful where I place it in vehicles, and make sure it won't move (and try to avoid thorny trees); and always place it in a large plastic bag when flying. I got the standard white after considering the stronger black cuben, as I much prefer a light-colored pack. The only real bitch was the absymally slow standard shipping - Campsaver were prompt to dispatch it, but then it took forever to wing its way from there to Korea (obviously not Campsaver's fault). The Windrider also contracts well for occasional day use. I wish the extra gear straps were provided standard with the pack; but with my long Z-lite folded in two stacks, I secured it on the back with elastic cord, and that worked well on my recent 2-week trip to Japan, though it meant I didn't use the back mesh pocket. A bit tight with my full camping gear - but great incentive to get the weight and volume down! (Although I'm 5ft 8", I got the Large s
