Great hiking shoes
Written on Aug 09, 2015
I transitioned to trail runners for hiking about a year ago. The inov8 290s are the most comfortable I've found so far. I've tried brooks Cascadias, Nike 910s, salomon xa 3ds, hoka Stinsons (actually more comfortable than inov8s on level ground)....

Runs a little large

Mont Bell Thermawrap Sport Jacket - Men's
Excellent jacket! Very warm for weight. I stood around (no physical activity) in 40 degree weather with slight wind and was warm. Adding a light rain jacket increases warmth to around 30. Dries quickly too, and the water resistant coating beads up rain.
I usually wear an XL, but could probably fit in a large in this jacket. My XL does allow for more base layers .

Not for trail runners

Review for
C.A.M.P. Quattro Crampons
Quality made, very light (9 oz), but the heel strap on one shoe kept slipping off. Also, they are best on flat terrain. Might be better on sturdy boots so as to allow cinching down tighter.

Not for low top

Hillsound Cypress6 Crampon
Well made. The ratcheting straps are very smooth. The upper strap, however, slipped upward above my low top trail runners, and onto my foot....no bueno.
For mid high or full boots they would work much better.
