Well it's a bear can... It serves its purpose and it's convenient to use. This bear can is one of the lightest ones and it's one of the more widely approved ones too. No one likes to carry the extra weight but what's good for the bears is good for us.

Patagonia Rock Craft Pant - Men's
These pants a great. They breath really well, are light and look great. On my last backpacking trip it was in the mid 80s and i rolled up the pant legs. I didn't wear my shorts even once.
They are really stretchy too which allows complete unhindered movement. I looked at a lot of pants for backpacking and hiking and these were by far the best. Great price at campsaver too!

Montane Anti-Freeze Jackets - Men's
This jacket is great. Not only is it really well made, warm and light weight but it is the best looking down jacket I've found. For reference I'm 6'-0", 42 shoulders, and 33 waist. It looks like it's tailored for me.
I've tried on all of the top lightweight down jackets under 400 and this was far and away the best one. Had this with me this past weekend in the Sierras. The morning was 33 deg
