This is a must read for the over packer. Skipping luxury items does not necessitate that one experiences the wilderness in an uncivilized manner. Just chillax on the goodies. Written with great thought and wit including key organization. The cartoons are clever as well. ;)

Lowa Phoenix GTX Lo Hiking Shoe - Men's
After switching from 4 season boot travel in the last few years it has been very rewarding to wear hiking/backpacking shoes for 3 seasons. This Phoenix GTX by LOWA is a very comfortable and sturdy shoe! Breathable with very little break in if any. Different laces and foot beds make them great. Whilst some may scoff at the weight of over 1.1 pound per foot...I say Keep on Truckin!
