I needed a true tent for weekend trips with my 13yo daughter and our dog. The LightPath 3 has more than enough room for two people, gear, and our dog. We split the tent and with footprint and stuff sacks, it weights out just under 7 pounds, 3lbs for her and 4lbs for me. For the price, it's not too heavy compared to the room you get. I bought this pack for my 13yo daughter. She has a 15" torso and I was able to adjust the harness a little smaller than the is really designed for. It still works well and carries comfortably for my daughter. Her total full pack weights are 19-21 pounds for an overnight/weekend trip, including water, food, 1/2 of our tent and the remainder of her gear. She fits a 3/4 length thermarest air mattress
