Not the warmest, much lighter than an R1 which I thought I was buying a comparison to, but turned into one of my favorite layers! I've leant it to a couple friends on canyoneering trips and their response was wow that's nice immediately after putting it on. Slightly elastic fit to be tight but not at all restrictive and flow perfectly with your body.
Terrific piece of gear! Not the warmest fleece layer, but feels great! I have only used it in mild pursuits so I can't attest the breath ability or drying much yet, but this hoody feels terrific. I'd be perfectly comfortable wearing it over a baselayer or as a baselayer. Arms are long, but that's because they have the thumb loops. Half zip is a little deep, but it will be nice for venting.
Got it as a great deal on here. For full price probably not worth it over alternatives. Used it everyday for a week long spring ski trip and it was terrific. Breathed well, kept me warm in the mornings and I even felt comfortable wearing it around town by itself in the warm afternoons. Hood's very technical, but that's the idea and seems like it'll work fairly well under a helmet. At first I felt like the seams were a bit too pronounced and almost returned it, I'm very glad I didn't! Kept it because I was need it winter backpacking and the seems didn't bother me at all (and haven't since). Great piece of gear! Not the lightest baselayer though
Was worried as this was more than I intended to spend on trekking poles, but saw it was a terrific deal and went with it. Tips are very good and these poles make a world of a difference over the old poles I was borrowing from a friend. Haven't pushed them too much, but they're comfortable to hold for long days and very good performance.
This jacket is very light. Not the lightest wind jacket in existence, but it makes up for that in coverage. It's very comfortable. Got stuck in a heavy thunderstorm when I expected it to be a light rain at worst. Was only really coming down for 20 minutes or so, but this jacket remained totally dry and I wasn't cold at all while all my friends were soaked and cold from the wind. Fits quite tight around the armpits and can be difficult to put on and off because of that, but I'm inclined to think that helps performance as the jacket moves well with your body. Hood clip is nice to get it out of the way, but it doesn't work well since the jacket is so thin that it just slides out pretty frequently. Not as breathable as I'd like, but not terrible.
