Send bandages

by Virzitone, Verified Owner from AK, United States Written on September 12, 2020
Cool cookstove, unique construction featuring nice tig welded corners, but ffs watch out for the raw edges adjacent the knobs. For real they should send band aids in the package, prepare to de-burr all cut edges on this thing, or bleed. Also the removable legs are great concept but a modest search finds no Legs product for this aluminum model, anyone?

Camp chef customer support is 60 minute wait time right now and unfortunately, after using half dozen times, I’ve got liquid propane blowing out the preset regulator on the hose assembly.
Pros:
  • Unique, powerful, alum.
Cons:
  • Half finished, bad hose
Best Used for:
  • DIY mods

Good, but Rough Around the Edges

by Jeff, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on June 25, 2020
This stove is great for it's intended purpose and that's to cook with. As a portable two burner stove this is the highest BTU output I've owned and can bring fluids to boiling temperatures quickly. The aluminum body feels sturdy and solid. My main problem with this stove is that Camp Chef should taken the extra time to remove the burrs off all and I mean all the edges of this stove. I shouldn't have to worry about cutting myself when preparing my stove to cook. I spent $12 on a deburring tool and one hour removing all the burrs from the edges of the stove. Lastly I used steel wool to blend all the scratches and it also gave the stove a more aggressive look. For a $300 stove I shouldn't have to do these extra steps. I would rather pay the extra $75 for a Partner Steel 22" Burner stove, but since I paid a little over $200 because it was on sale and paired it with a hefty coupon(discount) I'd buy it at this price and remove all the burrs again. Another good alternative stove is JetBoil's Genesis Base Camp System for $259 with no burrs to worry about.

In closing since I had to buy a tool and spend time to make this product what it should be out of the box, I'm docking two stars from it. I also don't like the placement of the propane adapter being up front. It should be on the side or rear.
Pros:
  • Sturdy Construction
  • Fast boils
Cons:
  • Lots of burrs
Best Used for:
  • Camping
  • Outdoor cooking
  • Cooking fish outside so your house wont stink
