Most Helpful Positive Review Great hiking boot that fits like a running shoe
I have the shoe version of these and those are very comfortable. I got 1/2 size larger for the boot on advice of some reviews, but it's probably not necessary if you don't have wide feet or don't wear very thick socks.

Most uncomfortable shoe in a long time

by Chris, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on April 28, 2024
Spent weeks researching a lightweight trail hiking shoe…tried on at least 6 different models, but couldn’t bring myself to spend over $150 on a shoe. Saw these on campsaver at a fair price, so I bought them without trying them on (not available locally). Upon arrival, they didn’t feel great, but I figured they needed to break in a little. It has now been almost three weeks and the shoes still feel clumsy and the upper feels sloppy and not very supportive. Getting my foot in and out of the shoe is not optimal even with the laces fully loosened…the cuff opening is simply too small and has no elasticity to it…I even went up half a size per several reviews. I can’t speak to the quality or durability, but this shoe just isn’t right for me.
Pros:
  • waterproof
  • Looks unique
Cons:
  • Upper not supportive
  • difficult to put on

Danner Exceeds Expectations

by BruceBronco, from MI, United States Written on December 23, 2023
Danner does it right! I got a great black Friday deal and had to pull the purchase trigger. The boots are much lighter than I expected and design still has decent rigidity. I needed a light to medium boot that's water friendly via vortex and these seem good. They have been super comfortable on light hikes as well as wearing all day. The thinness of the vibram sole seems a bit weird to me and I will see how they hold up, I assume fairly well due to their reputation. My only item, not really a full issue is that they are a bit narrow. Others have reported this and it's true however it doesn't present a problem unless I wanted to wear a fairly thick wool socks. Overall, good looks, comfortable and trail worthy. I would recommend this boot and the great purchase experience and quick delivery from Campsaver.com
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • Can be narrow with thick socks

Tough shoe, no break in needed

by Chris, from MO, United States Written on September 7, 2021
Received the boots the day I left for a back country trip (elk hunt). Put 38 miles on the boots covering blow downs and everything that comes from spending five days going up and down drainages. The only recommendation I would have for anyone is get a good pair of gators.

Comfortable from the start!

by JROB, from VT, United States Written on May 23, 2020
These are great! They took about 5 minutes to soften up. The fit is good. Water and mud roll off these shoes. Lightweight and comfortable. I really like them! This is my first pair of Danners and I am impressed.
