Darron Fletcher's Review of Easy Camp 4-Person Carnival Tipi Tent
I’m a big guy, 6’2” 290 pounds. This tent would have plenty of room for a young family of four. Good for car camping or for a couple that want lots of room in the tent for gear. I like that the tipi top has a mess vent and a rain fly. The door has two parts, a full mess ventilation door and a water proof door. I like the full length mess door for bug protection and ventilation. Heat and moisture is carried out the top of the tipi via the designed air flow. I like that my large 6’2” frame has lots of room from between my head and the wall and my feet and the wall. If you like a pillow like I do, you will like the extra room to put gear above your head for easy access during the night. I like a ventilated waterproof tent and the tipi design with its steep sides ensure rain runs off quickly and cannot pool anywhere and seep in. Setup is easy after you get the hang of it. Plop it down where you want it, stretch the floor out and point the door where you want it to face and stake the floor. Then insert the center pole and stake the guidelines out working from one side to the other. The lines are easily adjusted. When all the guidelines are up tighten the as desired and you’re done. Once you get it down it goes up quickly. The stakes are not very good, plan on just replacing them unless you plan on camping on softer rock free soil. This is not a high end tent that you pay through the nose for. It’s simply a usable tent that keeps you warm and dry with lots of room in it. As with any tent, I recommend getting a foot print for it to protect the floor from what might be under it. The whole tent only weighs about 7 pounds and packs down into a small carrying bag that’s about 8 inches by about 30 inches. This tent does not take up all the room in your trunk. Its small enough to leave in there for emergencies. I rate this economical tent a 4 out of 5. Deductions are for no foot print and I don’t like the stakes it comes with.
Pros:
Price, easy put up, roomy, waterproof, ventalated and packs down small.
Cons:
No footprint, small stakes that just need replaced
Best Used for:
Car camping, wet conditions
Would Recommend:
Yes
