Great Shoe!

Bought these as my first pair of Climbing shoes. Work extremely well in gym. I wear a size 10 and bought size 10. Heel very secure. Shoes fit well over-all. Break-in tough! Knuckle on big toe toughest spot to break-in. Climbed in 4 times for 3 hr period. Had to take off every couple of climbs or effected my climbing. I'm sure will be great shoe when broken in. Great All Day Shoe

This is a fine beginner and moderate all around shoe. It performs well on small chips, it’s toe is stiff enough to pull with on those steep or overhanging routes. Once broken in it is soft enough to smear on rock faces and shabby angled rock. While tight, it is comfortable enough to be ideal for all day multi pitch routes where taking off ones shoes is difficult. A great all around gym shoe as well.

Not for wide feet or uneven toe length

I have wider feet than the average person and uneven toe length. The toe length was a bigger problem as my middle toe is longer than my big toe. It resulted in my middle toe being curled upwards when I put them on. Not comfortable at all. Otherwise, the shoes are fine. Just be aware of your feet and how they fit into a shoe. Also, I ordered a 9.5, which is a half size larger than what I wear for regular shoes. The shoes were still too uncomfortable and small. Probably not going to get a defy after I exchange them.

Great Beginner/Intermediate Shoe

This was a great first climbing shoe. I have been climbing about two months and love them. I improved from a 5.9 to a 5.10b climber over that time and find these shoes effective for everything I am currently able to climb.
