Most Helpful Positive Review THE all-around shoe.
The reason I put THE all-around shoe in the title is just they have become the one shoe I find myself putting on most mornings. They do everything I ask and perform fabulously for this profile of a shoe. I haven't found many shoes that I can say this about.

Great stability

Much better than my pair of vans- sturdy and great grip equals more confidence and more control. Better grip on the uphills with the firm sole makes for a better transfer of power. Downhills and jumps are more fun as there is less likelihood of foot slippage on crazy turns and big bumps.

Five Ten FreeRider Casual Shoe

Rode for the first time in this shoe this morning. Very comfortable and sticky on the pedals. Recommend for anyone using flat pedals. I was concerned coming from clipless if I would like the way my feet stayed on the pedals, but these shoes provide the extra grip needed.

Five-Ten FreeRider Shoes

by Kenneth E., from IL, United States Written on March 8, 2015
These are perfect flat-pedal touring shoes. They are comfortable, provide plenty of support, are stiff enough, and have a footbed cushioned enough, to avoid hot spots on 100+ mile days. They are well ventilated—my feet didn’t overheat while riding in Death Valley. I’ve even had to wear wool socks on cool days.

I’ve been using them with Specialized Bennies pedals and the FreeRiders stick like glue, whether going up long 7% climbs or coming down even steeper grades. Standing or sitting, my feet have yet to slip off the pedals.

All in all, a great shoe.

Semi stiff sole for support on the pedals in the rough stuff. You can move your foot around on the pedal little more than in the Five Ten High Impacts but the grip is still awesome.

This is my second pair. The first one in very good shape, but it was in white. Got dirty fast. This time I got the dark colored grey ones. I was surprised how well the sole held up to my studded pedals. But first and foremost ,they are sticky shoes. I have yet to slip off my pedals. Thru rock gardens at times. They are heavily padded. But i never found myself sweaty or hot in them. I ride trails,a

I normally would use some regular Vans or Saucony shoes when I ride my MTB, but I always had problems with my feet slipping from the pedals. I heard good things about the 5-10 shoes so I picked up a pair of Freeriders as they seemed to fit my needs. They're not bulky or heavy at all.

Man was I surprised at how much grip these things have. I have a hard time adjusting my feet once they're planted
