I was really hesitant to order a long parka, as I am tiny. I’m only 5 feet tall, and I tried ordering the Patagonia Silent Down parka, only to find that the torso of the XS was way too long, causing the waist to fall on my hips, making it too tight to wear zipped across the hips. I sent that jacket back and found great reviews on the sizing & shape of this Fjallraven parka, so I tried it. As soon as I put it on, I knew it was the one. The fit on the XS is perfect ~ curvy & flattering to my feminine shape, way better tailoring than the Patagonia. The XS waist is higher, and the hips wider, allowing for a greater variety of body types to fit in it, and allowing for ease in hiking without having to open the zipper from the bottom. And the design of the sleeves allows for full range of motion, without the jacket riding up when reach up. The hood is perfectly sized too, and adjustable. The fleece on the inner chin area is so cozy. And the down is super warm and perfect for the PNW. My husband and I affectionately call this parka my “fashionable sleeping bag” as I’m pretty sure this jacket could save my life if I were stranded in the woods overnight. I’ve seen a lot of reviewers complain about the occasional feather escaping their new down jacket. I think that comes with the territory ~ I’ve never had a down anything that didn’t occasionally see a feather push through. It is very soft and warm. This is my first Fjallraven jacket. The quality is impressing. I will recommend this jacket. It comes with a travel bag which is very handy. The hood is little small but it is okay.

I have been eyeing this jacket for a longggg time but was just waiting for a good deal to come along. I have only had the coat for a week, but have had a chance to put in through the ringer in the middle of a brutal Montana winter. The temp has been dipping below zero at times, but I can still go out and walk or shovel without getting a chill. The fit is great, I would say it's pretty true to size, I bought a small (I am 5'4 and 130 lbs.), and the shape isn't too bulky.

I purchased the black, it looks sharp and the material is super nice. The jacket is light and feels like you are wrapped in a cloud. I can see this jacket lasting for years to come, so happy I finally decided to invest in this timeless piece!

I haven’t tested this coat in the cold yet but it seems very warm and is nice and light. I’m 5’9, 175 and purchased a large. It is bigger in the shoulders and arms than the hips, but not obnoxiously so. It’ll be good to have extra room w sweaters and sweatshirts in the winter.

I treated myself to this parka for my birthday & I have been wearing it every day since it arrived on my doorstep! From the comfy fleece lined neck to the cuffs that keep the cold from creeping in at the end of my sleeves, there is so much evidence of thoughtfulness in the design of this coat. I ordered the black & it’s simple and chic enough to look great for a casual day or to dress up for a night in the city or mountains.

I really wanted to love this coat. The dark navy is a great color. But the coat is HUGE in the upper arms. It's big in general, so an extra small would probably help that. And the sleeves were too long, which I can deal with (and am used to). But it oddly looks like I have Popeye arms, great big puffy biceps. It's the weirdest thing. It was really warm and not heavy, which is exactly what I was looking for but very sadly, I'll be returning it.

I love this jacket! I wanted to upgrade my current winter coat and after reading many, many reviews settled on Fjallraven. They have a lifetime guarantee, which a lot of companies don't offer (Northface doesn't!) and they also offer styles and features many coats don't.

My fav features:
- super lightweight, while also being VERY warm
- hidden inside pocket, perfect for zipping in your phone
- mesh key pocket in front pockets, both zip
- storage bag to roll it up for easy travel
- slim fit - doesn't make you look too bulky like many other down jackets

The zipper is a little snaggy, I've found I really have to make sure the bottom zipper is all the way at the bottom or it gives me a little trouble. Otherwise, this is an exceptional jacket, I don't know if I've loved one as much as this! For reference, I got the medium, I'm 5'8", athletic build, 165 lbs.

I cannot say enough good things about this parka. Its extremely warm and well made. Besides the outside pockets it has a small mesh zippered inside pocket, and it has an adjustable hood. Looks great on also. Trim fit, so keep that in mind with sizing.
