Shirley H.'s Review of Granite Gear Leopard A.C. 58 Backpack

I was looking for a lighter pack than my Deuter 65+10 for 4 season use. I first tried the Crown, but the back pad pressed painfully on my lower back. I ordered the Leopard on a great sale and intended to alter the frame/back pad to make it work for me. After loading it up and trying it on I found I didn't need to alter it and it is more comfortable than my Deuter. The frame sheet on the Leopard is curved at the bottom and that is what fixed the problem for me. I took off the top lid and now have a sub 3lb durable pack! The side pocket are really easy to reach, the webbing attachments have proven invaluable, it holds snowshoes easily in the rear flap, 25lbs is nothing for this pack, it's proven highly water resistant(meaning no water inside, although I used a cheap Chinese pack cover), roll top is awesome and with Granite Gear's volume rating, it is way larger with the roll top extended. It put a MLD hip pocket on it and am good to go. The belt also comfortably holds the weight of my Glock(first try today). For those who complain about "too many buckles", it went from a Deuter 2 buckle and this 4 buckle and don't even notice a different in effort. I feel lucky I bought this pack to try, it really is great! I sadly loved to be snowed and rain on while out, this has so far proven to be the perfect pack for me. Camp Saver also has alternate hip belts and will swap them free, just specify when ordering.
