The most comfortable pack!
After years of being an Osprey devotee, I was persuaded to try Granite Gear. For all those Osprey miles, I had come to believe that the sharp pain in my back was something I was going to have to live with and "tough out". I just returned from an extra grueling five days in the Grand Staircase carryi...

Granite Gear packs are great
Generally I got this to replace a Nimbus Ozone that tore from stem to stern. It isn’t as large or as simple — the many clips and straps are confusing and easy to get misaligned, and loosen or slide when you don’t want them to. Not enjoying the tiny strap/tiny clip config instead of standard width gr...

Initially Impressed
Loved this pack when it arrived. I bought it to hike the Appalachian Trail, but soon after had to cancel my trip. I finally had the opportunity to use it almost 2 years later in the Adirondack Mountain high peaks. Two days into our adventure through Avalanche Pass and over Algonquin Mountain, the cheap plastic frame broke, and the shoulder straps were useless. I had to cut my trip short, and rig a bush fix to get my stuff off the mountain. Super disappointed.
Pros:
- Weight, Size, Comfort
Cons:
- Quality of frame
Best Used for:
- The idea of hiking, not the reality.

Granit Gear Backpack
I purchased Granit Gear Leopard A.C. 58 backpack after 2 yrears of research and wait. It is paragon of perfection in every respect. When you are talking about American real ingenuity, this is it.

Great value
Shoulder straps and waist belt very comfortable. Took it on two 6 mile hikes. Performed great. I usually wear an 18" pack and I ordered the small which wss on sale. The small goes from 14" ro 18". It fit really well and if need be I can adjust to fit the kids. I like the removable lid. Overall, a great lighter pack but it vsn carry up to 40 lbs.

light and awesome
I bought the leopard 58 because my adventure racing pack I love so much is too small for winter load or when I have to carry my kid's load also. This leopard is perfectly light weight and can carry stuff for 2. And it is also expanable that I can carry more. The hipbelt is so comfortable. Yes, there are lots of straps and if you remove them all at once, it becomes quite a puzzle to buckle them back. Perphas coloring code (sharpie) the buckles would help. Good things about all these straps is that once you tighten the straps, the load feel very secured and you dont feel any movement from the load when moving around. So I love this pack.

Love this pack.
Excellent technical pack. The molded back is really incredible. Came with medium shoulder straps and hip belt. Granite Gear has an exchange program where you male the straps in and receive the size you'd like in exchange. Pretty sweet. Takes a few weeks though.
