Have purchased 12 pairs of Lowa GTX's over last twelve years, excellent fit, and boots gave confident quality support and not one pair was defective, under extreme use in all sort of conditions, and the top are high enough to give real support, the insides never wore thorough.
Hagwag Alaska GTX in 11.5 is the exact same as Lowa, I like the style of NO decorating the side of the sole and decoration like looks of Lowa.
The Hanwag is just s tall which I need. Never wear these types of boots with with Merino wools socks for you and your boots life. It was not just the slightly lower price that has "made me " try another brand of boot. No it was Lowa decorating the boot that use to be fine/excellent but they added multi coloring and just weir looks IMO.
Styling is for other types of shoes NOT boots needed for ankle support in all sorts of conditions, and up and down hills with out blisters too.
The Hagwag boots were a wonderful treat to find ! Have not had them long enough to know how they will hold up, that is the important part.
So listen up these boots fits just like Lowa for a European foot, feel great like a glove so have not fear about fit.
