Great boot, just finished a grueling hike with heavy pack. But, don't let anyone tell you differently, these boots need some break in time. If I hadn't broke them in, would've been an extremely painful hike. The heel fit is perfect, no sliding and the best thing of all, the boot came in 1/2 sizes.

Light comfortable and coming in wide sizes

My HanWag boots are the most comfortable and durable boots I've ever wore.Absolutely no break in will be required!! These boots are very well made, provide excellent ankle support and roll heel to toe perfectly. These are beautiful boots that I would recommend to anyone!

Light comfortable and coming in wide sizes

The shoes seemed to be of good quality. I was pleasantly surprised to find out how comfortable these boots are. High quality construction. No worries about leaks in puddles (didn't go up to my ankles, however).

Great fit, excellent boot

I wore out a pair of Asolo $300 boots. I was reluctant to change brands but bought the Hanwag's for under $100. I was impressed with the fit ( I wear 11 1/2 and bought the same size) and comfort. I have been on 3 backpack trips without any discomfort. I highly recommend the boot and manufacturer.

Overall Excellent

Very comfortable right out of the box. On the firmer side in terms of cushioning like many European products. The stitching accuracy is not quite as crisp as some of my other boots such as Scarpas or Zamberlains that I own but I doubt that will impact functionality in any discernible manner. I am already looking for my next pair of Hanwags!

Great Boots... So far

I have only worn the boots for a few days now, but there was no break-in period, they were very comfortable right out of the box. The gor-tex lining works well, my feet haven't gotten wet at all. I have not submerged them in water, but they keep my feet dry in rain/dew.

Nice Boot

Wasn't familiar with the brand but glad I tried them! Fit is very nice once I found the right size for me and have been happy with them on the treks I've used them on so far. I really like the mesh panels to help breathe as summers here tend to get hot but I still wanted a waterproof and rugged boot. I think they have a nice feel when walking, not too stiff. Haven't had them long but seem to b
